A Place to Believe…
First Baptist Church of Fort Morgan strives to be a place where people can BELIEVE! However, we don’t want to believe in just anything!
One can believe in myths, fairytales, and falsehoods even to the point of having one’s life changed for better or worse by such beliefs. Instead of believing in just anything, we want to believe the TRUTH! We believe and teach that God’s Inspired Words and Deeds, Bible and Creation, is the TRUTH in which one should believe. We believe that God chose to create and love people, and – at an incredible cost to himself – frees them from the fallen condition they put themselves in if only they, in response, choose to reach out for his helping hand – Jesus Christ! [Genesis 1:1; John 17:17; John 8:32; 1 Timothy 3:16-17; John 14:6]
Having something well-founded in which to BELIEVE gives people a sense of stability and wonderful purpose. We believe a personal God is a purposeful God, and the more intimate one becomes with Him, the more purposeful they will become – intimacy with God is key. The Bible teaches that we can stand in the good news of Christ (The gospel – 1 Corinthians 15:1) and standing therein, we can fight effectively and efficiently against the devil (Ephesians 6:10-18). We believe the Bible to be God’s instruction for life and guide to heaven. Our simple belief and practice is this: If the Bible and God’s creative design teaches something, we want to give ourselves to doing it. If otherwise, we want to avoid it at all cost.
