Church Covenant

We, who believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and who have received Him as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, do now in the presence of God and other fellow Christians, solemnly and gladly enter into this covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.

We pledge, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; To strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness and spirituality;

To promote its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrines;

To Give God first place in our lives as individuals and as a church;

To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expense of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the gospel through all nations.

We also pledge, as families and individuals, to maintain our contract with God on a daily basis through prayer and the study of the Bible;

To educate our children in the teachings and examples of the Lord Jesus Christ set fort while He was here on Earth;

To seek salvation of our family, friends and acquaintances;

To walk circumspectly in the world;

To be fair in our dealings, faithful in our promises and exemplary in our deportment;

To avoid all tattling, backbiting and excessive anger;

To live and regulate our daily lives according to the teachings and examples of Jesus Christ as recorded in the New Testament;

To advance the Kingdom of our Savior with strength and perseverance.

We further pledge to watch over one another in brotherly love,

To remember each other in prayer;

To aid one another in sickness and distress;

To cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech;

To be slow to take offence, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.

We also pledge that we will not forsake the gathering of ourselves together in the name of Christ, whether we are here, or by circumstance are in some other place.

We now ask God’s seal upon this covenant.
